The Standard of Living is a fascinating new play by three-time Olivier Award-winning playwright James Graham, starring Rory Kinnear and Natalia Osipova in a strictly limited world-premiere season in London's West End.

At the centre of the story is John Maynard Keynes – one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century. Moving between the corridors of power in Whitehall and the unconventional world of the Bloomsbury Group, Keynes finds himself surrounded by politicians, artists, writers and lovers, all searching for their own answer to what makes life worth living.

Rory Kinnear stars as Keynes alongside Royal Ballet Principal Natalia Osipova as his wife, the celebrated ballerina Lydia Lopokova. Their world also includes artist and former lover Duncan Grant and writer Virginia Woolf, bringing together extraordinary real-life characters in a story where love, desire, art, money and power collide.

Written by James Graham and directed by Nicholas Hytner, The Standard of Living transforms big historical ideas into an intimate and deeply human story. Playing at Theatre Royal Haymarket for a strictly limited 12-week season, this world premiere is a rare opportunity to see an exceptional cast explore one of life's biggest questions in the heart of London's West End.
